Our Governors
Bathampton Primary TLC Members
We have a strong team of TLC Members who contribute significantly to the school.
There are various types of members across our Trust Local Committee (TLC), drawn from different areas of the community, bringing a wealth of experience.
- Parent TLC Members: elected by parents and carers of children at the school
- Staff TLC Members: selected by election from teaching and support staff from the school
- Multi Academy Trust-Appointed TLC Members: appointed by the Bath & Wells MAT, of which we are a part, to represent the wider community or to provide specific skills.

MAT-Appointed Governors
Matthew Spurway (Chair of TLC Members)
We are delighted that Matthew Spurway has been elected to the post of Chair of TLC Members. Matthew works as a Test Lead on software solutions for the Emergency Services, with over 21 years of experience working with 999 Call Taking and Radio Communication systems.
Term dates: 10/11/2021 - 27/08/2029
Tony Purpuri
Tony is the MAT-appointed TLC Member responsible for safeguarding. Tony is also a Bathampton Parish Councillor, responsible for Highways, and is the liaison between the school and the Parish Council. Professionally, Tony is a Management Consultant and business owner, with nearly 20-years of experience in delivering large-scale engineering projects to the public sector.

Jael Pfauntsch
I’m delighted to be a Parent TLC Member and part of the TLC at Bathampton Primary School. My daughter attends the school and is thriving. We moved into the village in 2023 to be closer to school and the school community.
I'm a project manager by profession with over 15 years' experience delivering projects across government.
I really enjoy meeting other parents at the school and I look forward to meeting and getting to know you all as well as working alongside the rest of the school TLC in delivering the school's vision and strategic priorities.

Kayleigh Slater
Kayleigh is a Director in the infrastructure sector, leading national teams to deliver strategic, sustainable, and socially focused highways maintenance solutions. She also heads Diversity and Inclusion at Balfour Beatty Living Places, supporting over 1,000 staff and leading initiatives that promote an inclusive workplace culture. Her community involvement includes supporting charitable efforts both in the UK and overseas. As a governor, Kayleigh is passionate about contributing to the school’s strategic direction and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Parent TLC Member
Michelle Lansdowne
My name is Michelle Lansdowne, our family is new to Bathampton School this academic year and my son is in reception class. He has thoroughly enjoyed his first year of school with the forest school element of his curriculum being an absolute highlight. I am currently a PE teacher in a primary school and have been teaching and coaching for 13 years. The majority of my career has been spent within secondary schools where I have been a Head of Year and Assistant Lead of Post 16. I look forward to supporting the school within my role as Governor and becoming more involved in the school community.
